Prime Timers are a group of people, loosely defined as seniors age 50+, who enjoy eating out together, playing cards together, and enjoy fellowshipping with others in a similar stage of life.
The Prime Timers usually meet the First Tuesday Each Month for lunch, as well as many enjoy playing cards each Thursday afternoon at 2 pm. For more information regarding the Prime Timers, check out this month’s Household of Faith Newsletter or contact Sammie Brown. (803) 351 – 0784.
The Prime Timers also enjoy taking some day trips as well as partnering with the Shepherd’s Center of Lexington, which meets at LUMC, for their classes as well as expanded activities with them.
The goals of the Prime Timers are to:
- Become more involved in meaningful ministries and service projects,
- Provide activities for fellowship and fun, and
- Offer opportunities for continuing education.
The Senior Adult Planning Team develops meaningful and enjoyable activities for our members as well as others in the community, focusing primarily on these areas of interest:
- Monthly Lunches at local restaurants
- Adventures in Learning through the Shepherd’s Center of Lexington
- Arts, Crafts and Other Leisure Activities (Sewing Ministry, Card Ministry, etc)
- Travel including both overnight and day trips
- Physical Fitness classes
- Service to the Church and the Community.
We invite you to be involved in LUMC Prime Timers. If you would like to learn more call Sammie Brown at (803) 351-0784.
