Let everything that breathes praise the Lord! Psalm 150:6
Music is a very important part of Lexington United Methodist Church’s spiritual expression. All are invited and encouraged to offer their talents in worship to praise God through music. If you want to offer your talents, please contact the church office at 803-359-6838 and make arrangements to visit with our Choir Director, Bonnie Pruitt, bonniepruittlexumc@gmail.com, and with our Organist, Ken Robbins, KRobbins@lexumcsc.com.
Chancel Choir
The Chanel Choir’s membership is made up of persons with a wide variety of musical skills and experience. Auditions are not required, but anyone interested in joining the choir should contact choir director, Bonnie Pruitt. The Chancel Choir provides a wide variety of types of choral music for the regular Sunday services, as well as special music for services during Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter. The Chancel Choir provides music at the 11:00 AM traditional service, and soloists or small groups of singers or instrumentalists provide the special music for the 8:30 AM traditional service.
The Chancel Choir rehearsals are Wednesdays at 7:00 PM in the sanctuary and Sundays at 10:30 AM in the choir room.
ANew Music
Many new songs and hymns are sung using guitars, keyboard, drums, and other instruments in the ANew service (11:00 AM in Wesley Hall).
Youth Music Ministries
We have many youth who participate in our Anew Worship Band as well as sing in small ensembles on special Sunday’s and Youth Sunday throughout the year. If you are interested in participating in one of these special ensembles, contact Lessie Polk or Todd Handell. If you want to participate in the Anew Worship, contact the band leader or Todd Handell.
Children’s Choir
The Children’s Choir is for children 4, 5 and 6 year olds. The children learn Christian music that is sung during the year for church worship services. For more information, contact Lessie Polk at lespolk@aol.com.
