Purpose:
At Lexington United Methodist Preschool, we focus on the intellectual, social, physical, emotional, spiritual, and creative growth of the whole child. Each child is helped to experience success and positive feelings of self–worth at his/her level of maturity.
Time:
Our preschool runs Monday through Friday from 9 am to 12 pm.
Curriculum:
The preschool class activities strive to develop and refine social, self-help, cognitive, gross, and fine-motor skills. Play is the foundation for building all future skills. The curriculum is literature and theme-based.
The one-year-old program emphasizes learning through play. It incorporates story time, nursery rhymes, music, and art activities. Ample time is set aside for important play activities that help develop motor skills.
The two-year-old program also emphasizes learning through play. It incorporates story time, nursery rhymes, music, and art activities. The school routine is introduced further with dedicated circle time. More focused activities to develop motor skills like cutting, coloring, and drawing.
The three-year-olds spend time working on school readiness. In addition to a more school-like routine, students start to have more learning achievement goals like recognizing their names, letters, colors, numbers, and pre-writing skills.
The four-year-olds focus is on learning letters and their sounds and how to write them. Teachers use fun activities to introduce math concepts as well as science experiments to spark a thrust for learning. Our 4-year-old students also end the year with a special graduation ceremony!
Students attend chapel once a week and have library time each week.

2026-2027 School Year Information
We are excited for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year! The first day of school will be August 24th, 2026, and the last day of school will be May 21st, 2027.
Registration opens on January 19th, 2026 for church members and current families.
Registration opens to the public on February 2nd, 2026.
For the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, Lexington United Methodist Preschool is offering our 1- and 2-year-old classes, Monday through Thursday only. We will have limited spots available for Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. 2026-2027 Registration
Registration for the 2026-2027 school year is now open. Please fill out the form below to register your child.

Registration Fee: $125 per child payable at online registration and is NON-REFUNDABLE
Tuition Fee: Tuition is per class enrolled and the fee is broken down into 9 monthly payments (September-May). The monthly fee also includes your supply fee. Tuition is due by the first of each month, beginning Sept 1st. If payment is not received by the 10th, then a late payment fee will be added.

Late Tuition Fees:
11-15 days late: $10

Lunch Bunch
This is an optional after-school program offered to our 3- and 4-year-old classes. Lunch Bunch is Tuesday through Friday from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Students who sign up for this program bring their lunch and get an extra 30 minutes of playtime.

4 days/week $75/month
Multi-Child Discount: Applies if you have more than one child in your family attending the preschool. Your monthly fees for the 2nd and subsequent children will be reduced by $5.00. There are no discounts on Lunch Bunch or Registration Fees.
LUMC Members: Receive a 10% discount on their monthly fees. No discounts are given on Lunch Bunch or Registration Fees.
Preschool Withdrawal:
Each student is registered to attend Lexington United Methodist Preschool for the entire preschool year. If a parent chooses to withdraw their child from LUMP, the preschool office must be notified in writing a minimum of 30 days BEFORE the date of withdrawal. If a student is withdrawn and has given LUMP less than one month’s notice, the parents are responsible for the entire following month’s tuition. If parents should decide to re-register their child they will need to fill out new registration paperwork and pay the $125 NON-REFUNDABLE registration fee.
2025-2026 Calendar
The first day of school will be September 2, 2025. The last day of school will be May 22, 2026. We follow Lexington School District One for all school closures.
