Celebrating 175 Years as Lexington UMC!

Contribute to the Legacy Fund

Even though the celebration service is over, the legacy of LUMC will continue to grow. The legacy of LUMC is the people — from the first 5 people who formed the church in 1850 through today. It’s the people who make our church what it is and establish what it will be in the future. As you remember our past, celebrate our legacy, and look towards the future, you have the opportunity to remember our church through a special contribution to the Legacy Fund. We ask that each person prayerfully consider a gift over and beyond your tithing. Whether it is $175 ($1 for each year of the church), $1,750 ($10 for each year), $17,500 ($100 for each year) or anywhere in between, your gift will improve the life of the church and this community for the next 175 years. The total gifts received will be distributed in this manner: 25% to missions; 65% for refurbishment projects including the Sanctuary, grounds, and other areas around the church; 10% to the reserve fund to keep the church legacy living on. What began with 5 members in a shutterless, doorless hewn log cabin facing Fort Street has been persevered for 175 years, and we look forward to celebrating our legacy.
