Saturday, Dec. 7th – Blue Christmas Service
Join us at 3 pm in the Sanctuary for our Blue Christmas Service. Blue Christmas? Yes, blue, as in the blues. As in, “I am feeling blue.” In the midst of all the wonder, joy, and celebration of Christmas, with its carols, parties, decorating, baking, gift-giving, and family time, it’s easy to forget that in our church, there is likely to be someone for whom the idea of Christmas joy is not part of the season this year. Our Blue Christmas Worship Service will be a time of reflection in a safe space where people can come as they are. No one will need to “put on a happy face” to hide their genuine feelings. We’ll gather for worship, honoring our grief and lament while praising God that God’s love, hope, and light are still with us in our darkest times. Dress is casual.

A Spiral walk is a calm, quiet walking path similar to a labyrinth, just simplified. During this time you are invited to visit the 4 reflection stations and enjoy the candlelit spiral walk. Come and enjoy a time of peaceful reflection amidst this often hectic season. Contact Heather Connor with questions: Heather@lexumcsc.com

Moravian Love Feast – 6:30 pm (Sanctuary)
The Moravian Love Feast is a longstanding annual service held at LUMC. The Love Feast, or Agape Meal, is a Christian fellowship meal recalling the meals Jesus shared with disciples during his ministry and expressing the koinonia (community, sharing, fellowship) enjoyed by the family of Christ.
The Lexington UMC tradition of the Love Feast was brought to our church in the 1980s by
Carol and Dick Fearrington. It has been celebrated during the Advent Season ever since with
lessons, carols and beautiful music presented by the choir. It also includes the sharing of buns and
hot chocolate.
