Our New Pastor

All are invited to meet Pastor Mack McDowell on July 3, 2022, in Asbury Hall from 9:30 – 10:30, during a reception given by the United Women in Faith (UMW).

The 11:00 ANew Contemporary Service will be combined with the 11:00 Traditional Service in the Sanctuary as Pastor Mack delivers his first sermon at LUMC. The 8:30 Traditional Service will gather as usual.

A note from Pastor Mack:

I am James Stewart McDowell, known to most as Mack. My family is historically from South Carolina, and many other places. My lovely wife Julie and I have been married for 35 years. I have three sons, three daughters, and nine grandchildren. Julie is a director at a senior-living community in Columbia. I served in the U.S. Army for over thirty years, including combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. I received my call to ordained ministry during a Walk to Emmaus and have been answering that call faithfully for eleven years. I am very much looking forward to our ministry together at Lexington UMC.

I have had conversations with your staff, SPRC, current pastor, and the District Superintendent to learn about your mission and ministry for Jesus Christ. I look forward to our time together, which is quickly approaching. May the Lord bless us as we discern how God will use us.

God bless you,

Mack McDowell
